Here is a list of some of the best puzzle games you can play on your phone.

1. 2048

2048 is a fairly old puzzle game but is still extremely popular and has a lot of clones made off of it. You start out with a 4×4 grid, and your goal is to combine all of the tiles with the same number to create new numbers. The numbers come in multiples of two, and you can combine them to make even larger numbers. The goal is to reach the magic number 2048, but some versions of the game let you keep playing to get even larger numbers, such as 4096, 8192 and so on. The game ends when you can’t combine any more tiles.

There are various versions of the game, some with larger grids and some with larger numbers. But the basic concepts remain the same. This game is ideal for all ages, and you can use it to teach your kids basic arithmetic in a fun way!

2. Dots

Dots is a very simplistic, yet very addictive puzzle game that is suitable for all ages. The game starts off with a blank screen with a few multi-colored dots. You have to find dots of the same color that are adjacent to each other and connect them together vertically or horizontally. The more matches you make, the higher your score. But, there’s a catch! You only have one minute to do this.

You can get time extensions with power-ups, but you will need to use the in-game currency to buy them. This game supports in-app purchases too for buying more dots and such, but the basic game without purchases will serve you just fine.

The concept of this game is very simple, which is why it is one of our favorites. The best part is, you can have your kids play it too to enhance their puzzle solving and visual cognitive abilities.

3. slither.io

Slither.io is a very challenging and unique game that can be loads of fun and sometimes downright scary. It is an online game that is played against other players that are online. There is an infinite board on the screen, and you control a worm that can go in any direction on the board. You get to eat other players that are smaller than you, but you have to avoid player larger than you or else you’ll be their meal. Grow in size and eat everything that you can! It is a very addictive game, but when you narrowly avoid larger players or when you end up getting chased, it can get pretty chilly!

There’s another very similar game with the name Agar.io working on the exact same principle. Except, it has circles instead of worms, so that should be a little more calming on the nerves.

4. Swipe Brick breaker

Another very addictive game that will keep you occupied for hours. This game is suitable for all ages. The best games are often those that are the simplest, and that is indeed the case here.

The concept is simple; At the start you have one ball and have to shoot it upwards to hit a brick. Each brick has a number written on it, indicating how many ball hits will it take for it to break. With each turn, new bricks come into play and the number written on the new bricks increases. Similarly, the number of balls you have per turn also increases to match the number on the new bricks. It’s an endless game theoretically. But practically, it can get pretty challenging. One of the most satisfying moments comes when you clear the screen of all bricks.

5. Brain it on!

Brain it on is a brilliant blend of problem solving and physics combined into a highly addictive puzzle game. The tagline reads: “Deceptively challenging physics puzzles for your brain!Draw shapes to solve challenging physics puzzles. They’re not as easy as they look.” And rightfully so!

The game has a brilliant physics engine that you can play around with. Make materials by drawing out shapes, and watch the physics come into play! Each level offers a new puzzle that can only be solved in a certain way. Perhaps to throw something into that top jar, you might need to build a lever first? The game provides hints as you go along, but only for a limited number of times. Another challenge is to use as few materials as possible to get maximum achievements. As you level up and become advanced, you get to deal with a variety of different elements; sometimes the walls might be made of rubber, causing extra bounce, or the gravity might be reversed altogether!

It is a very fun and addictive game. But it is best played with a stylus since drawing precise shapes with fingers can get really challenging at times.
